Sapp proved to be a productive tackler for the Buccaneers and was a serious threat for the opponents. He added 51 tackles and 9 sacks in 1996 and 58 tackles and 10.5 sacks in 1997 . In the year 2002, he led the preeminent team to victory in Super Bowl XXXVII over the Oakland Raiders. He recorded total of 5 tackles and 2 sacks through the 2002 postseason. In 2004, Sapp decided to play for some other team. He initially showed interest in accepting a contract offer from the Cincinnati Bengals for four years. The deal was worth US $ 16 million. But in March 2004, he signed a 7-year, $36.6 million contract with the Raiders. |
